Help the Porn Industry?

… that’s what Hustler’s Larry Flynt and Joe Francis, CEO of Girls Gone Wild, is asking US Congress to do, with an allocated sum of $5 billion for a “bailout” of the adult entertainment industry.

Flynt and Francis feel that since everyone else is seeking bailout in these times of economic turmoil, why not also give a small (?) sum to ensure the survival of the porn industry.

Joe Francis claimes that “the US government should actively support the adult industry’s survival and growth, just as it feels the need to support any other industry cherished by the American people.”

Larry Flynt argues that USA is a nation in need. “People are too depressed to be sexually active,” Flynt said in the statement. “This is very unhealthy as a nation. Americans can do without cars and such but they cannot do without sex.”

“It’s time for congress to rejuvenate the sexual appetite of America,” Flynt continues. “The only way they can do this is by supporting the adult industry and doing it quickly.”

No, this is not a joke!

Is this what we want? To keep using and exploiting women so we can feed vultures like Flynt and Francis who cash in billions from the flesh-market; to ruin thousands of lives – including those of many young girls and even children – to appease our sexual appetites and stay “healthier”; to help girls get drunk out of their socks (Girls Gone Wild) so we can play with their bodies as we please; and last but not least, giving boys and men a twisted view on the role of women.

If there ever were wolves in sheep’s clothing, it would have to be Flynt and Francis. They pretend to be some sort of saviors when they – and many with them – are in fact guilty of demoralizing our nations and literally ruining countless of lives.

Supporting the porn industry would be supporting a view that disrespects the sanctity of human lives.

We simply can’t do that.
